"This is a landmark historic hotel, dripping with stories of famous guests. It is grand, warm, welcoming, quiet, comfortable and convenient to Nara Park, Kintetsu Station and many temples. I stayed in the new side which feels very 1990s American hotel style. Roomy for Japan and with a nice balcony. The bar, tea room, sakura lounge and dining room were all comfortable and classy. This is a wonderful place to stay."

"Old fashioned hotel with easy access to JR station. Large room and fast check in and Checkout process. Neither the public bath (tiny and uncomfortable changing room), nor the breakfast (average food at a unsuiting banquet hall) met our expectation on new year's day. No VIP access perks were given. "

"The room are super small. It is so small that there is no room for suitcase. But other from that, the faculty is excellent. Restaurants atound the jotel is good, but the hotel's own restaurant is excellent, especially the breakfast. The crossiants are must try item."

"The rooms are very spacious, very close to train station, a 10 minute walk to Nara Park, shopping street right around the corner. The bed was very comfortable, had great ammenities in the bathroom and the front desk staff was so friendly. They let me leave my bag till check in time while I went to Nara Park for the day."

"The room finishings are top notch. Everything is new and tastefully decorated. It is true that there's a smell in the shower. Hard to know what it is. I recommend keeping the shower door closed, the ventilation on, and then all will be fine. I would stay here again. "
